Hello everyone…. I finally got the chance to record a song after a really long break. I guess I was also looking for the right song. When I saw this film recently, I liked this song especially because of its folkish nature. I believe the original singer, Sithara, won the much deserved Kerala State Award for the Best Female Singer (2012) for this song.
So here is my version of the song; I hope you all enjoy listening to it.

Malayalam Movie: Celluloid
Composer: M Jayachandran
Lyrics: Engandiyoor ChandrasekharanO
Recording music had taken a back seat for several months now; I could not find time in between work and other things. This song has been a pending project for a long time now. I finally completed today. I love the unique lyrics of the song and of course AR Rahman’s music. Hope you all enjoy my version of this song. This goes out to all my friends who kept reminding me – that I need continue to sing and record. Thank you one and all!
Here’s a beautiful song from a new Malayalam movie. The song is set as an “Oppana” (Although with a modern twist). Oppana is a dance form common among the Muslim community in Kerala. I have never sung an oppana before; so thought of trying this one. I hope you all enjoy it. :)
Just an unplugged version of the song "Kanaka Munthirigal" - originally sung by Venugopal. I liked this haunting melody a lot - so thought of trying it out. Hello! I got back to the US after my 2-month vacation in India on March 8th. I had a great time, and even attended a Muziboo get-together at Bangalore. It was soooo nice to meet in-person, the friends whom I had made just through their amazing voices.
I just recovered from a bout of sore throat and cold. So here I am with another song……
Hope you all like it. As always, do leave your frank feedback with improvement opportunities.
Btw – this is a duet… but I have sung it as a solo…jus cos :)
Hi Friends,
It’s been a while since I posted a song here. I have not been very active on Muziboo for the last few weeks. I was down with a terrible cold, cough and everything that goes with it; ‘thanks’ to the Wisconsin winter.

Anyway, I thought I must post a song since its the first day of the New Year. This song is a very famous and melodious piece composed by the Maestro Ilayaraja. This tune was recently used by Ilayaraja in the movie "Paa".

This song was suggested by a few friends of mine, so I decided to cover it. I am covering a song sung by S. Janaki after a really long time. Hope you all like this rendition. Do let me know your comments.

In the original song, the ending has a cute bit where a child joins in to complete the rendition with laughter. I mimicked a child to include that bit. :-) Hope it doesn't sound too bad.

In a couple of days, I am leaving for India!!! I won’t be able to record songs there as my recording gear is here in Wisconsin. But, I will try and log in to Muziboo to listen to all of you :)

Hope you all have a wonderful and joyful New Year !!! I am looking forward to more & more beautiful songs from all of you as well as hoping to see many more talented artists.

I was really excited when Pradip Somasundaran asked me if I would be interested in singing a song with him. He is, by far, one of best and most respected singers in the music blogging community.

Here is a beautiful song, one of the evergreen hits from the movie 'Bharatham'. I think, this song is one of Raveendran mash's toughest compositions; Pradip ettan performance in this is superlative! I am happy I got a chance to sing this with him.

We have added our own little variations/additions to the song. The swaraas sung by me in between are not there in the original song.

Do listen and give us your feedback.
Chithra won a National Film Award for her performance in this song, in May 2004; and lyricist Pa Vijay won a Silver Lotus Award for the song the same year.
Autograph is a beautiful movie too. Produced, directed and acted by Cheran.
Thanks George, for mixing this song. You have done a great job. Preferably, pls listen to it with your headphones. “Please Mr. Postman” (1961)was the debut single by The Marvelettes, notable as the first Motown song to reach the number-one position on the Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart.

This song has been covered frequently, including a version by ‘The Beatles’ on their ‘With The Beatles’ album (1963).

“Please Mr. Postman” became a number-one hit again in early 1975, when ‘The Carpenters’ cover of the song also reached the top position of the Billboard Hot 100.

Lyrics:

Oh yes, wait a minute
Mister Postman
(Wait )
Wait Mister Postman
(*) Please Mister Postman look and see
( Oh yeah )
If there’s a letter in your bag for me
( Please, Please, Mister Postman )
Why’s it takin’ such a long time
( Oh yeah )
For me to hear from that boy of mine

There must be
Some word today
From my boyfriend
So far away
Please Mister Postman
Look and see
If there’s a letter
A letter for me

I’ve been standin’ here
Waitin’ Mister Postman
So patiently
For just a card
Or just a letter
Sayin’ he’s returning’
Home to me

Repeat (*)

So many days
You passed me by
See the tears
Standin’ in my eyes
You didn’t stop
To make me feel better
By leavin’ me
A card or a letter

Repeat (*)

(Why don’t you check it and see one more time
for me you gotta)
Wait a minute, wait a minute….
(Mister Postman)
Mister Postman look and see
(C’mon deliver the letter, the sooner, the better)
Mister Postman..
