Varamanjalaadiya (Malayalam Cover)

Movie Name: Pranayavarnangal (1998)
Singer: Sujatha
Music Director: Vidyasagar
Lyrics: Sachidhanandan Puzhankara
Cover: Rashmi Nair

This is one of my favorite songs ever! I remember singing this in college as well. In the movie, Manju Warrier, my favorite Malayalam actress, sings the song on stage for a college function. It's a beautiful movie with a bunch of amazing songs. The song is so beautifully worded that it compliments the tune so well or may be the other way round. The song is drenched with love and romance! I think this song is one of Sujatha’s best! I hope you all like this rendition. Do give me your feedback. My blog completed 2 years this September. So this song is part of that celebration!

Rashmi,

This is my favorite song too. I have always had a tough time deciding which one is better..this or aaro! :-) Vidyasagar is brilliant in all the songs from this movie!

You have sung this with sooo much feeling and ur voice suits it perfectly! Well, ur voice suits any song!!! Beautiful rendition..

Just an observation..in the opening lines.."avale"..could have flowed better..

Love..V

Very sweet Rashmi. As Vidyu said, couldn't help noticing the slip in "avale" though :)
Beautiful song too.

Can I be a bit critical here? You have sung the song well and your sweet voice perfectly goes with the song. But you lacked the 'layam' element in this song. Especially in the lines - "kili vannu kongiya...". When Sujatha sings it, you almost hear the little bird outside her window. You have sung it technically right but you haven't captured the real essence of these lines.

Hm! Sorry if I had been a bit critical here. Hope you take it in the right spirit.

After all, I'm an instant fan of yours!
