Gopangane- Malayalam Cover (With Pradip Somasundaran)

I was really excited when Pradip Somasundaran asked me if I would be interested in singing a song with him. He is, by far, one of best and most respected singers in the music blogging community.

Here is a beautiful song, one of the evergreen hits from the movie 'Bharatham'. I think, this song is one of Raveendran mash's toughest compositions; Pradip ettan performance in this is superlative! I am happy I got a chance to sing this with him.

We have added our own little variations/additions to the song. The swaraas sung by me in between are not there in the original song.

Do listen and give us your feedback.

Song: Gopangane
Film: Bharatham (1991)
Music: Raveendran
Lyrics: Kaithapram Damodaran Namboothiri
Original Singers: K.J Yesudas & K.S Chitra
Covered by: Rashmi Nair & Pradip Somasundaran

Very nice one, both of you! Pradipji's breath control is admirable.
I noticed an inconsistency in saying the swaras: ga as well as ri for the same swarasthanam (ri3 in naattai)- sometimes u say ga, sometimes ri. Same with the dha (dha3) and ni2.
The ga2 is called 'ri' and the ni2 is called 'dha' in naattai..
I don't know how it is in the original, but this is the convention in Carnatic.
